Why we exist.

Oxygen was founded with a clear goal: provide the Financial Services industry with a centre of excellence specifically focussed on Operations. Operations practitioners, methodologies and frameworks that reduce cost & risk, and improve efficiency & quality.


Headcount-led operating models are unsustainable. The industry is moving to AI-enabled Operations — and the firms that get there first will run leaner, more reliable, more accurate operations than headcount-led competitors. Oxygen exists to help capital-markets Operations leaders make that transition.

Karl Wolohan

Managing Partner

Twenty-five years in Financial Services, the last sixteen at Markit / IHS Markit / S&P Global, where Karl was MD, Global Head of Operations and acting COO for the MarkitSERV business — board member and director of the FCA-regulated entity, leading global Operations across critical post-trade infrastructure.


Earlier career in Investment Banking (Citi, DRKW) covering core account management, transaction control and financial compliance. Chaired industry working groups on Credit market transformation. Founded Oxygen to champion Operations as a strategic function and an industry priority — and to help senior leaders navigate the move to AI-First Operating Models.
